COVID Update #1 - Good gym hygiene

Well, what a year so far…

At the start of 2020 we experienced terrible bushfires, smoke and then heavy rains & flooding. After this, we all took a sigh of relief, glad to have the toughest part of the year behind us. Little did we know how things would change…

As you know the current challenge for all of Australia is COVID-19, aka the corona virus. This has had a dramatic impact on health, wellbeing, everyday life and economics across the world. We are not immune to its effects and are now getting to the business end of its impact on Australia. It will affect all of us on a global, national and personal level in ways we are yet to fully appreciate. Despite this, we want to reassure you that we are here with you during this journey and will play our part in keeping you fit, healthy and sane.

Of course, we are following the expert recommendations of the NSW Health Department along with the World Health Organisation to provide the safest experience we can. We just wanted to let you know ways we can work together to best weather this storm and support our community.

Firstly, here are our sanitary recommendations you may have already seen in the gym. Please follow with particular care, especially staying at home if you are unwell. Rest and recuperation is the best strategy and exercising when you are sick is usually counterproductive.

Secondly, it is our intention to keep following government advice & recommendations. One of the great benefits of our small community is that we have smaller numbers of people in the gym at any one time.

Currently, government recommendation restrictions are in place for groups of more than 100. If group sizes are restricted to less than this, we plan to implement a booking system enabling us to keep numbers down to 10 people at a time in the gym. Implementation of this will be advised if and when required.

Thirdly, as you know, the situation is fluid and can change rapidly (just ask anyone with an international flight booked). We will keep you updated on any changes to operations as they happen through our social media channels below. This is the fastest and most effective way to communicate. We will always follow up with email details but social media will remain the primary channel for communication.

Lastly, know that we support you as much as you support us. If we can help you in any way during this ‘interesting’ time, just let us know and we will always do our best.

Remember, stay safe, stay healthy & let’s work together to look after our community
