COVID 19 - Update #3 Let the shutdown begin

The Federal Government has taken action to reduce the spread of the corona virus by shutting down non-essential mass gatherings across Australia. This includes all gyms and indoor sports venues, both large & small. It is a massive blow to us personally & professionally. As you know, our passion is keeping people fit, strong & healthy - not only in body but in mind & spirit as well. BTW, the irony of being shutdown to improve people’s health while bottle-shops & McDonalds are still open is not lost on us :)

Having said that, it is our duty to help stop the spread of this virus. Social distancing, hygiene and the isolation of (potential) cases is the front line in this battle. As such we will gladly play our part to reduce the impact on the rest of our community, young & old, sick & healthy.

The first practical item of business is your membership. We have suspended all memberships indefinitely at no cost to you. This has already been done, you do not need to do anything for this to happen. When this situation resolves we will be able to restart at the first available opportunity.

Secondly, we want to continue supporting your health and exercise through this difficult time. We will commence an outdoor exercise program from Wednesday 25 March. This will take place in the park across the road from the gym. Sessions will be limited to 4 people max with strict hygiene & distancing protocols in place. These sessions will give you the opportunity to keep up your exercise program, maintain routine in your daily schedule, be challenged and provide relief from the weight of the current situation. You can find out more and book online here.

Thirdly, we want to support those who will continue with a home exercise program. We will be providing home workouts via this blog along with helpful info on all things health, fitness, wellness, nutrition & emotional wellbeing. Suitably armed, you will be able to not only navigate the murky waters of corona-related information but also thrive in a home exercise environment. Stay tuned for our first instalments coming soon.

We understand that there will be tough times ahead for everyone but one of the most important things we can do is stay healthy, stay positive & stay connected as a community. Let us know if there are any topics you would like help or information about… it will be just like catching up for a chat in the gym.
